Memphis Depay to play wing-back for Netherlands?

Reports in the Dutch media say that attacker Memphis Depay will be used as a left wing-back during Holland's match against Costa Rica.

Netherlands head coach Louis van Gaal has reportedly decided to play Memphis Depay in the left wing-back position against Costa Rica this evening.

The 20-year-old has been primarily used as winger or central striker by his club side PSV Eindhoven, for whom he scored 14 goals in all competitions last term.

However, with Nigel de Jong ruled out through injury, Van Gaal has to rearrange his starting lineup, which will see Depay revert to a more defensive role, according to reports in the Dutch media.

Depay has found the net twice at senior international level, both of which have been scored at this World Cup.
