Wesley Sneijder confident of Netherlands progress

Wesley Sneijder is confident that the Netherlands will beat Mexico and reach the quarter-finals of the World Cup.

Wesley Sneijder has claimed that the Netherlands are confident of beating Mexico and reaching the quarter-finals of the World Cup.

The Dutch return to action tomorrow having finished at the top of Group B with three wins from three matches.

While admitting that Mexico will give his side a tough encounter in Fortaleza, Sneijder expects the Dutch to go through to the last eight of the tournament.

"We are very confident, but we always have to look to our next opponents and Mexico have a good team," he told FIFA.com.

"They're a tough team to play against so, yes, we'll have to concentrate and focus purely on this match. After that, let's see what happens."

Sneijder has scored 26 goals in 102 games for the Netherlands since he made his debut in 2003.
