Manager Rafael Benitez calls for "passion" from his Newcastle United players ahead of Wednesday's Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley Stadium.

Manager Rafael Benitez has said that he wants to see "freedom" and "passion" from his Newcastle United side when they face Tottenham Hotspur.

Newcastle make the trip to Wembley Stadium with Premier League survival having already been secured, but the Magpies have suffered three successive defeats in the top flight.

Benitez has acknowledged that he is delighted to have avoided a relegation battle, but wants his team to find the balance between playing without pressure and showing commitment in North London.

At a press conference, the 58-year-old told reporters: "To be in a position we are in, we are so happy. We have nothing to lose now. We want to play with freedom and intensity as we have been during the season.

"We can win, lose or draw against anyone - but we have to show desire, passion and commitment."

Newcastle currently sit in 10th place in the standings, but could still finish as low as 16th place.
