Yohan Cabaye: 'I don't think injury is serious'

Newcastle United midfielder Yohan Cabaye reveals that his groin injury picked up in his side's 1-0 win over Anzhi Makhachkala shouldn't be serious.

Newcastle United midfielder Yohan Cabaye has revealed that the injury he suffered in his side's win over Anzhi Makhachkala isn't related to the one that kept him out of action for two months.

The Frenchman suffered a groin injury in the 1-0 victory but immediately eased fears after the game that it was a recurrence of his initial troubles.

"It is adductor, but not the same place," he told L'Equipe. "I felt some pain.

"We played a lot of matches recently so that could be a reason. Before the encounter against Anzhi, I felt fine. I don't think it will be really serious."

Newcastle face Wigan Athletic on Sunday in the Premier League.
