Newcastle United goalkeeper Tim Krul has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a dislocated shoulder.

The Dutch goalkeeper was forced off after an hour in Sunday's 3-0 home defeat to Sunderland at St James' Park.

Manager Alan Pardew said: "Tim has dislocated and is definitely out for the season."

Krul, who had only recently returned from a month-long layoff with an ankle injury, was replaced by Rob Elliot.
