Alan Pardew excited by Facundo Ferreyra arrival at Newcastle United

Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew believes that new signing Facundo Ferreyra could be a "big success" at the club following his loan move from Shakhtar Donetsk.

Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew has claimed that new signing Facundo Ferreyra could be a "big success" at the club.

The Argentine forward, 23, joined the Magpies on a season-long loan from Shakhtar Donetsk on Sunday.

However, Newcastle have the option to make the move a permanent one next summer if they are happy with how Ferreyra performs this term.

"We think he could be a big success here at Newcastle," Pardew told the club's official website. "This is a player who has played at the top level and is highly regarded in Argentina.

"He has tremendous potential and hopefully he can realise that here at Newcastle United."

Newcastle are back in action this afternoon [Sunday] when they meet Schalke 04 in Germany.
