Preview: Newcastle United vs. Aston Villa

Newcastle United hope to bounce back from their defeat to Chelsea with a victory over Aston Villa at home on Sunday.

Newcastle United will hope to bounce back from their defeat to Chelsea with a victory over Aston Villa at home on Sunday.

Alan Pardew's side started the 2012-13 Premier League campaign on a positive note, defeating Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 at St James' Park.

However, the Magpies went down 2-0 at Stamford Bridge last weekend and will now seek their second home win of the season.

Things are worse at Villa, who are currently at the foot of the Premier League table with no points from two matches.

The Villans went down 1-0 at West Ham United in their opening game of the campaign, before being drubbed 3-1 by Everton at home last weekend.

However, Villa recovered in midweek to beat Tranmere Rovers 3-0 in the second round of the League Cup.

Hosts Newcastle have no injury or suspension worries, while Villa defender Ciaran Clark is expected to return from his one-match ban on Sunday.

Marc Albrighton, Gabriel Agbonlahor, Samir Carruthers, Richard Dunne, Gary Gardner and Stiliyan Petrov are the injury concerns for Villa.
