Alan Pardew: "Every Premier League manager fears for his job"

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew insists that all Premier League managers fear for their jobs.

Alan Pardew has insisted that all managers in the Premier League are worried that they could be fired.

Newcastle United fans have called for the boss to be dismissed after the team has managed just one win from their first eight matches, leaving them in the relegation zone.

He told reporters: "I think every Premier League manager fears for his job these days. You have to be on your guard and you have to get results. At the moment, our results need to improve.

"Obviously we are a long way from that at the moment and are thinking of nothing more than the next game. I know that is a cliche, but that is where we are at the moment.

"We should be looking top 10, then fighting for sixth or seventh and higher than that which happened to us once. But that seems a long way off."

Newcastle travel to Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.
