Newcastle United have reportedly identified Aston Villa midfielder Marvelous Nakamba as a potential January signing.
After the club's successful takeover earlier this month, the new Magpies hierarchy are currently planning for the arrival of several fresh faces at the start of 2022.
While an array of high-profile names have been linked with a switch to St James' Park, it appears that a squad player at Villa is also on their radar.
According to Football Insider, Newcastle may look to strengthen their midfield with the acquisition of Nakamba.
The Zimbabwe international has made a total of 57 appearances in all competitions since moving to the West Midlands in 2019, but he has featured for just 201 minutes in the Premier League this season.
Villa will allegedly demand in the region of £15m for the 27-year-old, a price-tag which may suit all parties given their respective circumstances.
