Newport County call off Fleetwood Town clash due to waterlogged pitch

Newport County announce that tonight's League Two clash against Fleetwood Town has been called off due to a waterlogged pitch at Rodney Parade.

Newport County have announced that tonight's League Two encounter against Fleetwood Town has been called off due to a waterlogged pitch at Rodney Parade.

The club, who arranged to put covers over the pitch earlier this week, announced on their official Twitter page that a pitch inspection has deemed the surface unplayable.

According to Sky Sports News, the Football League have been in touch with the club as they have already been forced to postpone five home games this season.

It is believed that the Football League are keen to find out what the issue is, what measures have been taken, and what they can do moving forward to prevent future games from being called off.
