FIFA to release Michael Garcia report

FIFA executives vote unanimously to publish a 430-page report regarding alleged corruption surrounding the bidding process for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups.

FIFA executives have agreed to the "appropriate publication" of a report into alleged corruption during the bidding process to host the 2018 and 2022 World Cup Finals.

Earlier this year, Michael Garcia put together a 430-page report after Russia and Qatar were awarded the next two World Cups, but calls for the report to be published were initially rejected, which eventually resulted in Garcia resigning from his position as lead investigator on FIFA's ethics committee earlier this week.

After a recommendation by compliance chief Domenico Scala, a meeting in Marrakech has resulted in FIFA executives unanimously voting in favour of more details of the report being released.

However, the report will only be made public upon the completion of investigations into five other individuals, which isn't expect to come until next year.
