Chuck Blazer to stand down as general secretary of CONCACAF

FIFA whistle-blower Chuck Blazer steps down as general secretary of CONCACAF.

Chuck Blazer, the man who blew the whistle on alleged corruption inside FIFA, has decided to step down as general secretary of the North and Central American and Caribbean governing body CONCACAF.

Blazer's claims of bribery led to an investigation which saw presidential candidate Mohamed Bin Hammam receive a life ban from football.

"It is time for me to explore new challenges," said Blazer.

The investigation which rocked football's governing body also resulted in Trinidad & Tobago's senior executive Jack Warner being suspended from the organisation. Warner later resigned before any official findings were revealed.
