Chris Hughton: 'Gary Hooper close to return'

Norwich City boss Chris Hughton reveals that he expects striker Gary Hooper to return from injury for next weekend's Premier League match at Hull City.

Norwich City manager Chris Hughton has revealed that he expects striker Gary Hooper to return from injury for next weekend's Premier League match at Hull City.

The summer signing was forced to miss Saturday's 2-2 draw with Everton due to a shin problem.

"He's not as close as we would have liked," Sky Sports News quotes Hughton as saying. "We feared it last week because he was in a fair amount of pain.

"He has taken a fair whack but we will look to push him and hopefully have him back for the weekend."

Hooper joined Norwich on a three-year deal from Celtic last month for around £5.5m.
