Reports emerge this evening that Fawaz Al-Hasawi has completed his takeover of Championship side Nottingham Forest.

Reports are emerging this evening that Kuwaiti businessman Fawaz Al-Hasawi has completed his takeover of Nottingham Forest.

The Championship club have been actively searching for new ownership since the early part of last season.

It is believed that Al-Hasawi had been holding discussions with some board members since last month.

Despite no confirmation from the Tricky Trees, Al-Hasawi took to Twitter earlier this hour to claim that a deal had been reached.

"I can officially announce that the acquisition of nottingham forest is complete," he posted on the social networking site.

Recent speculation has claimed that Al-Hasawi would look to replace current manager Steve Cotterill with Leeds United boss Neil Warnock in his first act as the club's owner.
