Nottingham Forest reportedly become the latest Premier League club to make a move for Villarreal winger Arnaut Danjuma.

Nottingham Forest have reportedly identified Villarreal winger Arnaut Danjuma as a January transfer target.

During 2021-22, Danjuma arguably enjoyed the best season of his career, chipping in with 16 goals and four assists in La Liga and the Champions League.

Six of those strikes came in Europe as Villarreal beat the likes of Juventus and Bayern Munich on the way to the semi-finals, but the Netherlands international is no longer regarded as an automatic first choice at the Yellow Submarine.

Danjuma has made nine starts and six substitute outings in all competitions this campaign, chipping in with four goals, and it appears likely that he will depart Villarreal before the end of the month.

Over the past week, it has been claimed that Everton and former club Bournemouth are both interested in negotiating a deal for the player.

A loan switch for the remainder of the season with the option to buy in the summer appears to be the most likely scenario should a transfer materialise.

Nevertheless, according to the Daily Mail, the Toffees and Cherries face fierce competition for a resurgent Forest.

The report claims that the East Midlands outfit are monitoring the situation with Danjuma allegedly being given permission to travel to England to discuss a move with all interested parties.

As a result of collecting 10 points from their last five fixtures, Forest now sit in 13th position in the Premier League table, five points clear of the bottom three.

Despite the mass arrivals in the summer, Steve Cooper has already moved to sign Gustavo Scarpa and indicated that more players will follow before the end of the month.

While Forest are well stocked for options in the final third, it has been reported that versatile attacker Emmanuel Dennis has fallen down the pecking order at the City Ground.

However, having already represented Watford this campaign, the Nigeria international can only return to Vicarage Road if Forest are to part ways with the summer arrival this month.

Forest are also on the brink of signing Palmeiras midfielder Danilo, that deal likely to be concluded over the next 48 hours.
