Parma director Pietro Leonardi has revealed that the Serie A club rejected a last-ditch bid for Jonathan Biabiany from Sunderland.
Biabiany is a French youth international who has attracted interest from clubs across Europe in the past two years, but Parma have rejected all inquiries for the winger.
Leonardi declared that the Black Cats registered an offer late last night for Biabiany that was swiftly dismissed, with the Ducali also turning down multiple enquiries for Nicola Sansone.
He told Parma's official television channel: "We did our best on the market and we refused several proposals.
"For example, Sunderland had made us an offer for Biabiany, but we turned it down.
"We also rejected a bid for Nicola Sansone. This is a squad that includes all the necessary alternatives."
Roberto Donadoni's side were active themselves before the transfer window shut last night, signing Inter Milan duo Joel Obi and Walter Gargano on one-year loan deals.
