Carlos Tevez will play his first Manchester City game in five months on Tuesday afternoon.

The Argentine spectacularly fell out with City boss Roberto Mancini after refusing to warm up against Bayern Munich in the 2-0 Champions League defeat in September.

The Italian had said that the 28-year-old was "finished" at City in the aftermath of the game, but the player has since apologised for his conduct and Mancini hinted on Wednesday that the player may earn a recall to his team.

Tevez will now play against Preston North End on Tuesday at 2pm in a Reserve League Cup tie, according to The Daily Mail.

The fixture was originally scheduled to be played at Chorley's Victory Park on Wednesday, but City have been able to bring the date forward and have moved the fixture to their Carrington training complex, as they believe the conditions there are better suited to Tevez's rehabilitation.

Tevez scored 24 goals for the Manchester club last season.
