Carlo Ancelotti pleased with David Beckham display

Carlo Ancelotti believes that David Beckham played a "key role" in Paris Saint-Germain's 2-2 away draw with Saint-Etienne on Sunday.

Paris Saint-Germain coach Carlo Ancelotti has praised David Beckham for his performance against Saint-Etienne in Ligue 1 on Sunday.

The 37-year-old English midfielder started his first league match for PSG that ended in a 2-2 draw.

"Beckham started for the first time in the league," Ancelotti told reporters.

"He showed that he can play consistently for 90 minutes and that he's in good physical condition. He played a key role in directing play."

PSG are currently five points clear at the top of the Ligue 1 table.
