QPR defender Jose Bosingwa could be facing a lengthy injury layoff after tearing his hamstring against Spurs, according to manager Mark Hughes.

Queens Park Rangers manager Mark Hughes has revealed that Jose Bosingwa could be facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines after tearing his hamstring in Sunday's defeat at Tottenham Hotspur.

The defender was taken off only minutes into the 2-1 loss at White Hart Lane with the problem.

"It is likely to be either a grade one or grade two tear and we will know after we get him scanned," Hughes told reporters.

"He got the ball early, made a pass and immediately felt something and then had to make a run forward which didn't help matters. We had no choice but to bring him off and we are hoping it is not as bad as we fear it is."

Bosingwa joined the R's for free over the summer after his contract was not renewed by Chelsea.
