Ronald Koeman: 'QPR win harder than Arsenal'

Southampton manager Ronald Koeman believes the win against Queens Park Rangers was more difficult than the win at the Emirates stadium on Tuesday.

Ronald Koeman has expressed his belief that his side's 2-1 win against Queens Park Rangers was a harder match than the Capital One Cup win against Arsenal on Tuesday evening.

Southampton beat Harry Redknapp's QPR side after goals from Ryan Bertrand and Graziano Pelle.

Koeman told Sky Sports News: "This was more difficult [than Arsenal match] because we played at home, they had very good defensive organisation.

"The lads showed talent and quality but the most important was that they showed a lot of character in a fantastic second half."

Southampton are now second in the Premier League following the win against QPR at St Mary's stadium.
