Harry Redknapp criticises referee Chris Foy after Queens Park Rangers' 2-1 defeat to West Bromwich Albion.

Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has slammed referee Chris Foy after his side's defeat to West Bromwich Albion.

A controversial Rob Green own goal helped the Baggies earn a 2-1 victory at Loftus Road, and move the Hoops back to the foot of the table.

Redknapp feels that Green was fouled in the build up to the goal, and also believes that his side should have had a penalty late in the game when Liam Ridgewell appeared to handle Stephane Mbia's header.

"We were 1-0 down and looking to get back into the game, and Fortune backs into the goalkeeper and has no intension on playing the ball," said Redknapp.

"Rob Green ends up trying to deal with it and he should really have just fallen over I suppose because the referee would have had to give a free kick, but because he tried to stay on his feet he didn't give it. It was a terrible decision.

"They were two poor decisions. I'm not one to come in and blame the referee, if you get beat, you get beat. But it was a blatant penalty. If your hand's above shoulder height it's a penalty. The ball is headed at him from three or four yards away and his hand is at full stretch above his head. He's handled the ball and he's not given the penalty. It's scandalous."

QPR host Liverpool in their next match on Sunday.
