Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp insists that his side showed enough in this afternoon's 2-0 defeat to Manchester United for him to remain positive.

Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has insisted that his side can still avoid relegation despite falling to a 2-0 defeat at home to Manchester United this afternoon.

The Hoops are now seven points from safety thanks to goals from Rafael da Silva and Ryan Giggs at Loftus Road.

Redknapp thinks that QPR showed enough spirit to keep hopes alive and has backed Loic Remy and Bobby Zamora to score goals between now and May.

He told BBC Sport: "It was always going to be difficult, and I think there was not much in it until the right-back [Rafael] hit a worldy and suddenly we were behind.

"But I thought we hung in there today. There were positives; Loic Remy looked like he was getting over his injury and showed some flashes.

"If we can get Bobby Zamora fit again, I think we will be OK. I think as a pair they can score a few goals for us."

QPR face relegation rivals Southampton next Saturday in a crucial clash at the bottom of the table.
