Queens Park Rangers have announced that Shaun Wright-Phillips will play no part in the remaining games of their crucial campaign in the Premier League.
The winger was expected to be sidelined for a period of time after undergoing ankle surgery, but it has since been confirmed that he will not return in time to help QPR keep their status in the top flight.
A statement on the club's official website said: "Shaun Wright-Phillips will miss the remainder of the 2012-13 season owing to an ankle injury. The midfielder underwent surgery earlier this week on his right ankle and has been ruled out for the rest of the campaign."
The West London outfit are seven points away from safety, with as many games left to play.
