Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp admits that their win over Southampton will mean little if the Hoops are not able to record successive victories quickly.

Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has insisted that his side must build on their win at Southampton to have any chance of staying in the Premier League.

Loic Remy and Jay Bothroyd both scored at St Mary's Stadium on Saturday as the Hoops recorded a crucial 2-1 victory over their relegation rivals.

He told The Mirror: "We have not had back-to-back wins since just before World War One. This gives us a chance. We are still in touch. We have put ourselves back in the mix.

"When I was at Portsmouth, I got a great result against Manchester City. Could this happen here? I don't know. If we win another two or three, then I think it may have been a turning point.

"But we are still a long way to go. There are a lot of points to play for and let's see if we can do the same next week. This gives us a chance, that's all. It is a chance and it keeps us in there. You could not have afforded to be cut adrift any more."

QPR are now four points from safety ahead of their next match at home to Sunderland.
