Queens Park Rangers sign Tomer Hemed on loan

Queens Park Rangers complete the signing of Brighton & Hove Albion forward Tomer Hemed on a season-long loan.

Queens Park Rangers have completed the signing of Brighton & Hove Albion forward Tomer Hemed on a season-long loan.

Hemed scored 30 Championship goals for Brighton between 2015 and 2017 but struggled in the Premier League last season, managing just two goals in 16 appearances in the top tier.

The 31-year-old has now been allowed to leave Brighton in search of first-team football, and struggling QPR have won the race for the Israel international.

"I know the reason I am here," Hemed told the club's official website. "I've good experience at this level. I scored goals in the Championship for Brighton, so I know how to do it.

"I came here to score goals but also to create chances for others and be a big factor in the attacking side of the game. I've done good things with Brighton and I can use my character to show that, even though it has been a bad period for QPR, we can do better every week.

"Of course I have to score goals, but if I can give a bit more confidence to the players after a difficult start, then I'm sure after one or two good games we can do good things together."

QPR have lost each of their first four matches of the 2018-19 Championship campaign.
