Former Rangers bosses Craig Whyte and Charles Green arrested

Former Rangers owner Craig Whyte and ex-chief executive David Green are arrested and charged over their acquisition of the club.

Former Rangers owner Craig Whyte and ex-chief executive Charles Green have been arrested as part of an investigation into the "alleged fraudulent acquisition" of the club in 2012.

Whyte took control at Ibrox in 2011 and Green took over as chief executive the following year after the Glasgow club entered administration and liquidation.

Green was charged after arriving at Livingston police station earlier on Tuesday, while Whyte was detained in custody in a police station in Glasgow.

According to the BBC, a third man who is believed to be former Rangers co-administrator David Whitehouse was also arrested in England, and all three men are expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
