Hibernian boss Alan Stubbs in running for Reading job?

Hibernian manager Alan Stubbs is a strong contender to replace ousted boss Steve Clarke at Reading, according to a report.

Hibernian boss Alan Stubbs is reportedly in the frame to take over at managerless Reading.

The former Everton and Celtic defender is said to be among the leading contenders to succeed Steve Clarke at the Madejski Stadium.

Stubbs took over at Hibs in the summer of 2014, guiding the club to second place in the Scottish Championship in his first full season but failing to navigate his side beyond the playoffs.

Hibernian are in the running once more to earn promotion this campaign but, according to the Daily Record, Stubbs is now wanted by Reading.

Gary Rowett, Brian McDermott and Nigel Pearson are also thought to be under consideration to take over the Royals, while Gary Bowyer is the latest to throw his name into the hat.
