Rafael Benitez: 'Karim Benzema could face Paris Saint-Germain'

Real Madrid's Karim Benzema could return from a hamstring problem for Tuesday's Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain, according to boss Rafael Benitez.

Real Madrid boss Rafael Benitez has revealed that Karim Benzema could be fit to face Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Tuesday.

The French international has missed the last three weeks with a hamstring problem that he picked up on the last international break.

However, after returning to training, the striker could be fit to return for the Group A match alongside James Rodriguez, who has been named in the squad after overcoming a thigh injury.

"Benzema is on schedule for his return against PSG. He still needs confidence to play," Benitez told reporters. "James is also on the list, he's better. That does not mean he will start, though, because he lacks match fitness."

Gareth Bale, however, is still on the sidelines with a calf problem and has not yet returned to first-team training.
