Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho: 'We respect everyone'

Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho is disappointed not to win Champions League Group D and says that all the remaining teams in the competition must be respected.

Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho has said that his players respect every team left in the Champions League.

The Spanish champions defeated Ajax 4-1 at home on Tuesday but still finished second in Group D, three points behind winners Borussia Dortmund.

"We have to respect everyone," UEFA.com quotes Mourinho as saying. "Last year we broke the record of points in the group stage, and in this year's group of death have been second.

"We wanted to be first but it has not been possible."

Madrid have failed to advance beyond the semi-finals of the Champions League in each of the last two seasons.
