Preview: Real Madrid vs. Ludogorets

Sports Mole previews Tuesday's Champions League Group B clash between Real Madrid and Ludogorets Razgrad.

Real Madrid will attempt to make it 19 wins in a row in all competitions when they welcome Bulgarian side Ludogorets Razgrad in the Champions League on Tuesday.

The Spanish outfit have already qualified from Group B having won all five of their fixtures thus far, and they are attempting to repeat their 100% group-stage record from the 2011-12 season.

Visiting Ludogorets currently sit bottom of the group on four points, but they would claim third – and a spot in the Europa League – with victory at the Bernabeu. A draw might also be enough if Liverpool lose to Basel in Group B's other fixture on Tuesday.

Not only have Real Madrid won their last 18 matches in all competitions, they are unbeaten in 19 Champions League games on home soil – winning 17 in the process.

Ludogorets, however, are currently on a six-match winless run on the road in Europe. The Bulgarian side are also still looking for their first win over Spanish opposition.

Real Madrid warmed up for the match with a 3-0 win over Celta Vigo at the weekend, with that result moving the La Liga side two points clear of Barcelona at the top of the table.

Ludogorets, however, are also on a strong run of form in their domestic league, with back-to-back wins moving the club into second position in the Bulgarian table behind CSKA Sofia.

The home side will be without the services of Sergio Ramos, who is suspended, while James Rodriguez will miss out with a calf complaint.

Luka Modric is also unavailable, but Jese Rodriguez could be named on the bench following his recovery from a long-term knee injury.

Ludogorets, meanwhile, are sweating over the fitness of Mihail Alexandrov, who is struggling with a muscular problem.

However, Brazilian pair Marcelinho and Juninho Quixada should both start for the visitors at the Bernabeu.
