Ivan Rakitic: 'We can catch Real Madrid'

Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic is confident that his side can usurp Real Madrid at the top of La Liga.

Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic is confident that the Catalan outfit can finish above Real Madrid in La Liga this season.

As it stands, Real Madrid top the table on 61 points, but they are just two points ahead of second-placed Barcelona.

Later this month, Barcelona welcome Real Madrid in the league and Rakitic believes that his team can usurp the leaders.

"Real Madrid are ahead of us at the moment, but the road is long. We think about ourselves, there's no need to think about Real. We believe that everything is possible," Rakitic told Sportske Novosti.

Barcelona have won 19 of their 25 league games this season.
