Report: Villarreal want Lucas Vasquez

A report claims that Villarreal want to sign Spanish winger Lucas Vasquez, who is currently on loan at Espanyol from Real Madrid.

Villarreal are reportedly interested in signing Spanish winger Lucas Vasquez.

The 23-year-old is currently on loan at Espanyol from Real Madrid and the Barcelona-based side have the option to make the move permanent at the end of the season.

However, according to Inside Spanish Football, a number of other clubs retain an interest in the midfielder, with Villarreal said to lead the queue.

The Yellow Submarine are expected to lose both Joel Campbell and Denis Cheryshev to their parent clubs at the end of the season, leaving Marcelino short of options in wide areas.

Vasquez has been with Real Madrid since 2007, but has never represented the capital side's first team.
