Sassuolo forward Domenico Berardi has said that he is hopeful of being called up to the senior Italy squad this season.
The forward has made a number of appearances for his country's Under-21 side, but he has not yet made an appearance at full international level
"Last season was undoubtedly one of growth and I matured along with Sassuolo, so I am happy to have another year of growth here ahead of me," he told Sky Sport Italia.
"I am pleased to be in this group and hope to repeat the good work I did last term and, why not, even improve. I don't have any particular preferences on my tactical role. I don't mind being on the right, left or as a trequartista, I just try to adapt to what the coach asks of me.
"I am focused only on doing well with Sassuolo. If I continue that form, then hopefully I'll get a call from Antonio Conte. I live in hope."
Berardi joined Sassuolo on a permanent basis from Juventus this summer, although the Bianconeri have retained the option to bring him back to Turin in 2016.
