Gordon Strachan pleased with Scotland squad depth

Scotland boss Gordon Strachan is happy with the depth of his squad going into Sunday's Euro 2016 qualifier against world champions Germany.

Scotland manager Gordon Strachan has expressed his belief that his side are in a "great position" regarding their squad depth.

A number of players are pushing for starts in Sunday's Euro 2016 qualifier against Germany as Scotland look to shock the reigning world champions and prolong their six-match unbeaten streak.

One position that is particularly competitive is in goal, with Allan McGregor, David Marshall and Craig Gordon in contention to start, and Strachan stressed that he had similar decisions to make in other positions around the field.

"We need to speak to three goalkeepers so we are in a great position, but it is not only them, there are three or four positions which are hard to pick," he told reporters.

"That is good because there is not much between the players, not because they are not very good, but because they are good and that is a big difference."

Scotland's last defeat came at home to Belgium exactly one year ago today.
