Rickie Lambert would love to finish career at Southampton

Southampton's Rickie Lambert, who has recently been linked with interest from West Ham United, says that he would love to stay at St Mary's for the rest of his career.

Southampton forward Rickie Lambert has said that he would love to stay at St Mary's Stadium for the rest of his career.

The 32-year-old England international, who has scored 104 goals in 204 league appearances since joining the Saints from Bristol Rovers in August 2009, has reportedly attracted interest from West Ham United in recent weeks.

"I have always said I would love to finish my career here, but who knows what will happen?" Lambert told reporters.

Lambert has just over two years left to run on his current contract at Southampton.
