Iker Casillas: 'Spain would be delighted to make history'

Iker Casillas says that Spain would be delighted to win three consecutive international trophies.

Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas has said that Spain would be "absolutely delighted" to make trophy history at Euro 2012.

Vicente Del Bosque's side have the opportunity to become the first ever nation to win back-to-back European Championships at the same time as holding the World Cup. Spain received some criticism after starting the 1-1 draw against Italy without a recognised striker on the pitch, but Casillas is not concerned with the pressure.

"When it comes to Euro 2012, the expectation will be high and other teams know how we play now so we have to work even harder than ever to win," said Casillas.

"However, if we do win, we will be absolutely delighted. Winning three international championships in a row is something no-one has achieved.

"We have a chance to do it but we know it will not be easy."

Casillas is the most capped player in Spain's history with 133 international appearances.
