Mauricio Pochettino: 'I want Tottenham Hotspur to qualify for Europe'

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino wants his side to pip Liverpool to fifth place in the Premier League and qualify for the Europa League next season.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has emphasised that he wants his side to finish fifth in the Premier League and confirm their place in the Europa League next season.

Spurs beat Hull City 2-0 on Saturday to edge a point and a place ahead of seventh-placed Southampton, but the Saints are still snapping at their heels with just one game left.

Pochettino told BBC Sport: "The first half was not easy because Hull are playing to survive. We're still in the fight to finish fifth. The fans needed that - it was a tough season for them too.

"I want to play in Europe next season - we need to win our one more game to be sure of getting in the Europa League and that is very important."

Spurs have made the Europa League for the past four seasons.
