Tottenham Hotspur assistant manager Steffen Freund has said that he thoroughly enjoyed watching Spurs beat Coventry City in the FA Cup yesterday.

The Premier League outfit brushed their League One counterparts aside thanks to a Clint Dempsey brace and a Gareth Bale strike inside the opening 45 minutes at White Hart Lane.

"It was exactly what we spoke about - that we needed the right attitude, to start well against a lower league team at the Lane," said Freund.

"We knew they would drop deep and defend well, but we didn't give them a breather in the first half. We put them under pressure, created chance after chance and of course, an early goal will always help as well.

"I must say, the first 20 minutes particularly were outstanding. As a coach, when you see a team perform so well, you can enjoy watching."

Spurs have not failed to progress beyond the third round since 2006, when they threw away a two-goal lead to lose 3-2 at Leicester City.
