Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte says that Rodrigo Bentancur should return to training next week.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte has said that Rodrigo Bentancur only has "a little injury", playing down claims that the January arrival could be set for a long period on the sidelines.

The Uruguay international suffered a leg injury during Wednesday's 1-0 defeat at Burnley, and it has been claimed that the midfielder would miss a few weeks with the problem.

Speaking during Friday's press conference ahead of the clash with Leeds United, Conte revealed that the mid-season arrival would not be available for selection at Elland Road.

However, the 24-year-old is likely to return to training next week, meaning that he could be in contention to face Middlesbrough in the FA Cup on March 1.

"Rodrigo has a little injury. For tomorrow he's not available but I don't think it's a serious problem and I hope in a few days he can come back with us and to train again with us," Conte told reporters.

The South American has made five appearances for Spurs since joining the North London club from Juventus in the winter window.
