Tottenham Hotspur confirm that Manor Solomon underwent "minor surgery to his meniscus on his right knee" on Tuesday.

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that Manor Solomon underwent "minor surgery to his meniscus on his right knee" on Tuesday.

The 24-year-old, who moved to Spurs on a free transfer last July, has been restricted to just six appearances during the 2023-24 campaign due to fitness problems.

Solomon has not featured for Ange Postecoglou's side since the clash with Liverpool at the end of September due to a meniscus injury, which required him to undergo an operation in October.

The Israel international had been expected to return at the start of 2024, but he has had various setbacks, and it has now been confirmed that he has undergone another operation in a bid to fix the issue.

"We can confirm that Manor Solomon underwent minor surgery to his meniscus on his right knee yesterday (Tuesday, 19 March). The forward will continue his rehabilitation with our medical staff," read a statement on Tottenham's official website.

Earlier this week, Solomon posted on his official Instagram account: "Lately I've been away from social media and focusing solely on my rehab and getting back on the field.

"The last period has been the most difficult and frustrating in my career. In the past five months I've been working as hard as possible to get back to doing what I love the most, but unfortunately, I haven't fully recovered yet.

"At the same time, I'm full of motivation and will continue to do everything in order to be back stronger than ever to help my club and country. Thank you for your support."

Tottenham boss Postecoglou, meanwhile, admitted last week that he was unsure when the forward would be available to return.

"I'm not really sure and I wouldn't want to put that pressure on him," Postecoglou told reporters. "He's had a tough time. Whenever players go through these periods, the important thing is not to try to put any firm deadlines or firm statements around it.

"[Rodrigo] Bentancur went through it when he overlapped two seasons, but these things happen. We've got Sess (Ryan Sessegnon) going through it.

"All you've got to do is help them along the way, support them and give them as much guidance as you can, and put them in the hands of the people who know best and just see what the outcomes are."

Solomon spent the 2022-23 campaign on loan at Fulham from Shakhtar Donetsk, scoring five times in 24 appearances for the London club.

The forward had featured in five of Tottenham's opening seven matches of the 2023-24 Premier League season, but he now faces a battle to return before the end of the campaign.
