Andre Villas-Boas pleased with "excellent" Christian Eriksen

Tottenham Hotspur boss Andre Villas-Boas praises summer signing Christian Eriksen for his instant impact in the Premier League.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has praised summer signing Christian Eriksen for adapting to life in the Premier League quickly.

The Danish midfielder, who signed from Ajax for £11m last month, made an impressive debut on Saturday during a 2-0 win over Norwich City in the Premier League.

"I'm happy for Christian because it's always difficult to play your first game in the Premier League," Villas-Boas told the club's official website. "It was an excellent performance for a player who has just arrived."

Spurs get their Europa League campaign underway on Thursday when they host Norwegian side Tromso at White Hart Lane.
