Steven Caulker has admitted that he wants his current team Swansea City to beat parent club Tottenham Hotspur when the two sides meet on New Year's Eve.
The England Under-21 international is on loan at the Liberty Stadium and is thus ineligible for the fixture on Saturday.
"My aim is to keep Swansea in the Premier League but obviously I have been at Spurs for the last four or five years, so it is a difficult one," said Caulker.
"But I am hoping for three points for Swansea. Spurs are a fantastic team with great depth in their squad and there is no reason why they can't go on and push for the title.
"It is a catch-22 but I wish the boys all the best and hope they do as well as possible."
The centre-back has been part of the Swansea side which currently boasts the tightest home defence in the Premier League.
