Christian Eriksen ruled out for two weeks

Denmark manager Morten Olsen expects Christian Eriksen to spend two weeks on the sidelines with ankle ligament damage sustained on international duty.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen has reportedly been ruled out for at least two weeks after suffering ankle ligament damage on international duty last night.

Eriksen, who picked up the problem during Denmark's 2-1 win over Norway last night, was withdrawn early on and carried to the touchline by medical staff in some discomfort.

Denmark coach Morten Olsen has now confirmed that the Spurs playmaker is likely to have sustained ligament damage rather than a sprained ankle, with a scan scheduled later today.

The 21-year-old is now a major doubt for two vital Premier League games for Spurs over the next fortnight, with a trip to Manchester City first on the agenda next Sunday.

Andre Villas-Boas's side then host Manchester United at White Hart Lane on December 1, but the Ajax midfielder faces a fight to feature in either showdown.
