Ben Davies: 'Tottenham Hotspur must be confident against Southampton'

Ben Davies believes that a confident approach will be required when Tottenham Hotspur meet Southampton on Saturday.

Ben Davies has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur must be at their best to take points off Southampton when the two sides meet at St Mary's Stadium on Saturday.

Mauricio Pochettino's side are currently just a point better off than seventh-placed Southampton, and Davies believes that the key will be for Spurs to play with confidence against another team battling for Europa League qualification.

"I think Southampton have done very well this season," the Welsh defender told the club's website. "They've built a good side there and we realise it's a tough place to go.

"Looking at the European spots, they're rivals of ours now and we're going there knowing they've already beaten some difficult teams this season.

"We've got to be on the ball and be prepared for everything they throw at us. We need to go out there and play with confidence and I'm sure if we do that we can put on a very good display."

Southampton have won their last three home games.
