Chris Gunter is hoping to use his experience of training with Gareth Bale to try to stop the Welsh winger in this afternoon's clash.

Reading right-back Chris Gunter is looking forward to the prospect of coming up against former Tottenham Hotspur teammate Gareth Bale this afternoon.

Gunter, who joined Reading this summer, will be tasked with stopping his Welsh campatriot Bale and the 23-year-old is hoping that his "inside knowledge" will help him.

"Obviously over the last couple of years he has probably been one of the best players in the league so hopefully I can use my sort of inside knowledge of playing and training with him for Tottenham and Wales to hopefully keep him quieter than he normally he is," Sky Sports News quotes Gunter as saying.

"It is important as a player to enjoy it and try to raise your game and standards for challenges like that.

"I am looking forward to coming up against Gareth and hopefully I can do my bit to help Reading get a good result."

Reading are currently without a win in their two Premier League games so far this season.
