Newcastle boss Alan Pardew calls upon fans to help his side stretch their unbeaten run to 10 games against Spurs.

Alan Pardew has called upon Newcastle United's fans to help extend his side's unbeaten run to 10 games when they take on Tottenham Hotspur at St James's Park later today.

A win for the Magpies would make it their best start to a season since 1994, and Pardew believes that their home support could make all the difference against Harry Redknapp's team.

"As an opposing player who has played at St. James's Park I can tell you the atmosphere there affects you," he said. "It is a difficult place to play. The crowd do play a part.

"It will give us the chance to balance the books with Tottenham, who are in great form.

"What I do want and I do know is that the fans have a trust in the team. I think they like the team, I think they see an honesty in it and it kind of excites them what it can do."

Newcastle go into the match in fourth place in the Premier League table, while Spurs are currently sixth.
