Mauricio Pochettino admits Tottenham Hotspur's Champions League hopes are fading

Mauricio Pochettino admits that Tottenham Hotspur's Champions League hopes are fading, after picking up a point in their goalless draw with Burnley on Sunday.

Mauricio Pochettino has admitted that Tottenham Hotspur's Champions League hopes are fading, after picking up a point in their goalless draw with Burnley on Sunday.

Spurs lie seven points behind fourth-placed Manchester City in the Premier League table, throwing away the chance to leapfrog Liverpool into fifth had they won today's game.

Pochettino still believes that it is possible to qualify for the Champions League but admits that their chances of doing so are slim.

"I think it is difficult [to qualify] but we have seven games, we will try. It is true that it is not easy," Pochettino told reporters after the game.

"We need to try to win the next game. This game was difficult, a very tough game. We need to try to win the most points possible in the next seven games."

City would extend the gap between themselves and Spurs to 10 points if they overcome Crystal Palace on Monday night.
