Thierry Henry: 'Tottenham Hotspur can win the title'

Former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry claims that Tottenham Hotspur have the credentials needed to win the Premier League title this season.

Former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur have the credentials needed to win the Premier League title this season.

Spurs have won their last four in the league, which has seen the capital side rise into second position ahead of their trip to Manchester City this weekend.

Henry has said that Tottenham were missing "stability and consistency" in the past, but believes that Mauricio Pochettino has now brought that to the club.

"Tottenham are doing so well, and they are a good side. I never thought in my life I'd be saying this, but they can win the league and deserve a lot of credit," Henry told Sky Sports News.

"What was missing at White Hart Lane was stability and consistency, and for once Daniel Levy showed a bit of patience with his manager. Mauricio Pochettino is the right guy.

"They have a lot of young players, and they are not just playing cameo roles, they are a factor in the team. They have a great goalscorer [Harry Kane] and Christian Eriksen can provide, Mousa Dembele can hold and play, and Dele Alli is a great player too. On top, they have a good goalkeeper, which is very important."

Spurs are currently level on points (48) with second-placed Arsenal, but have a much better goal difference.
