Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas praises chairman Daniel Levy, claiming that his strong football knowledge makes him the ideal boss.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has praised chairman Daniel Levy.

The 34-year-old former Chelsea boss, who was appointed as Harry Redknapp's successor earlier this month, believes that Levy's knowledge of football is very impressive compared to that of many of his Premier League counterparts.

"It was important to come to a club with an owner who is involved on a daily basis with his knowledge," explained Villas-Boas. "That is the main difference. The structure that is around Tottenham is extremely good. There are competent people in and around the football club.

"The club is driven towards success. Everybody knows they must play a part in achieving that success, they are not looking for scapegoats and I think when so many people are striving forward it makes your job easier.

"Since I have met the chairman here, I like the way he goes about his business. I think he is a person who knows what he is doing, approaches the market in a different way."

Levy, 50, replaced Sir Alan Sugar as chairman of Spurs in February 2001.
