Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly willing to sell their only recognised striker, Jermain Defoe, as he does not fit into new manager Andre Villas-Boas's plans.
Reading and Queens Park Rangers are leading the race to snap up the England international for around £8m, according to Goal.com.
Spurs are expected to complete a deal for Emmanuel Adebayor, who spent last season on loan at White Hart Lane from Manchester City.
This will still leave the club short of firepower up front if Defoe leaves as Roman Pavlyuchenko also left the club this summer.
Defoe, 29, scored 11 goals last season from 25 appearances, but 14 of these appearances were made from the bench.
